Purchasing and building a home is one of the most stressful events in a person’s lifetime. Finding the right location, right builder, and watching the construction process is the second biggest stressful event in one’s lifetime. As luck would have it, our paths crossed with Steve Blumer (Blumer Homes) who just happened to be starting construction on what would become our dream infill home, on a perfect lot, in the inner-city community of Banff Trail where we already lived.
During our first couple of meetings with Steve we knew that he was the right one. Instead of purchasing a completely finished home, Steve allowed us to become part of the decision making and build process so the house would be uniquely “ours”, while not interfering too much with custom design aspects of his original design. Having the opportunity to converse and work with all of the tradesman (Craftsman) was a special part of the process. Many of these craftsman became our friends and they were willing to go the extra mile to ensure that we were happy and content when the jobs were complete.
From start to finish Steve was attentive to our concerns, respectful of our needs, and helpful in explaining the different aspects of each part of the buildout. He was also extremely considerate of our budget, and helped out in many cases to make sure we spent money where we needed to, and showed us where we could save some costs.
It’s now been close to 2 years since we took possession of the home and Steve continues to monitor and address any issues that have popped up. His contractors are also quick to attend to the fixes and touchups that have been needed.
Bottom line… Steve cares about the quality and reputation of Blumer Homes, and most importantly he cares about his clients and goes out of his way to make sure they are happy.
